behind the dancer’s mask
I had the pleasure of dancing with a gentleman named Gawain at a White Plains salsa meet-up (yes, I’ve traveled upstate for salsa, courtesy of JPLogan!). Not only was the dance enjoyable, but he’s got an interesting story too. We like stories, so I highly recommend his. If you ever think about who the person is behind the mask of your “dance partner”, this is the story for you. I don’t give much thought to the person behind the dance most of the time because I am trying to enjoy the rawness of the dance, unburdened by human layers of identity, motive and finitude (like your occupation, marital status and likelihood you’ll remain a long term dance partner at a social). Plus it’s fun to imagine, if you must. Eventually if this is a long term dance partner, you’ll find out. But I see why Gawain might hesitate at first on how he introduces himself. Two versions:

Thanks Nova. After seeing him dance for many years I finaly know the whole. Very interesting person. Nice guy to say the least.
This is fascinating.
the whole story that is. I wish we could edit our posts after they are posted (hint, hint:)
I know JPLogan, I’m sorry the site is a bit basic. I have been trying to find the right plugin to download without crashing the site. Bear with me. My nerdiness goes so far. If you ever post anything you feel strongly that you want me to modify or remove, let me know.
