Sun City: Meet the Jetsons in Dubai
Dubai is building a solar powered building that will rotate throughout the day. I guess this can also serve to settle issues of which apartment will have the best views. I wonder about the light though. If the rotation is slow enough, then there will be some apartments that will align perfectly with the sun so that they are draped with the right amount of light. Actually, maybe a new problem will be that some apartments might get a perfect amount of light, some will be in the shade all day, and others will be scorched. That’s just how my challenged imagination can see it. Anyway, this building and concept reminds me of the Jetsons and Orbit City. As money evaporates around the world (and oil too), I wonder if Sun City in Dubai will still happen. Would you live in a rotating tower?
